Biopsy Fibroid
Can you tell your doctor what you want done with your body? (Even if they say otherwise)?
Okay, here is the story.
I found a lump in my right breast about 3 weeks ago which I kept from my doctor. Well, I finally went to the doctor. The doctor felt it and told me that she wants to get a sonogram done just to make sure. She also said positivity that is it most likely Fibroid Breast disease. My family history is crazy on this. My grandmother, great aunts, aunts, mother have had them. My great aunts died from breast cancer. I have also had fibroid tumors on my brain. What I want to know is after my sonogram if the doctor wants to do a biopsy can I tell the doctor that I don't want a biopsy I just want to removed? The reasons why is because I'm in so much pain, don't feel good in a bra. Can I say that I want it removed rather than messing with all the tests? (My aunt and grandmother, had all of theres removed because of pain and other common reasons such as mine.
Please let me know.
Hi.. Medical History does say quite a bit, and I think that if you clearly explain to your doctor your/family medical history, he should be understanding. I'm assuming he also knew about the fibroid tumors you had in your brain, unless you had a different physician at the time? I think if you just tell them everything like you have here, they should be understanding and will take your decision into consideration, and in the end, depending on the condition it is the patient's decision if they want a surgery/surgical procedure done to remove something like this, but then again surgery/surgical procedures depend on how bad, for example the fibroid in your breast really is.
Also, if you have any questions about these things I would ask your doctor, I'm sure he/she won't hesitate to answer them. :]
Best of luck and get well soon! :]

Hysterosalpingography test is also helpful in finding blockages if any, which could stop the normal movement of egg form fallopian tube to uterus. Since fertilization takes place in fallopian tube blockages may also prevent sperm to reach into fallopian tube and hence cause infertility.
