Can Men Get Fibroids

What problems to share, how much to share with my fiance?

They say that men don't like to hear about our problems cause they feel pressure to give us a solution. I feel it especially stringly from my fiance cause he seems to feel the need to protect me from anything bad that can possibly happen. But all we're looking for is support, that is we want to hear that they are on our side. So if I've got a problem I'm even afraid to tell him cause he gets all agitated. But not telling is like lying. How can I pretend that everything's fine when it's not?

Like I got this health issue that I need to do more research about before I even know what to say. (Uterine fibroids) I will be fine, I'm not terminally ill or anything, but I'm sure he will freak out. It also concerns chilbearing, so I feel I must tell right away. Guys, what do you think?
Of course I'll tell him but when? Righ away, cause I'm fretting about it, or later, when I actually know more what's going on with me?

Well, my wife had endometriosis which prevented us from having children. A doctor in fact did tell her when she was young, but she never mentioned it to me until later on. I didn't know what endometriosis was until we were in our mid 30's and she knew about it when she was in her early 20's. Well, I wasn't pleased about it when I found out, but then, I loved my wife and I understood she must have been afraid to tell me. I can't speak for other men, but I stayed with my wife, all the way through several operations to reduce the endometriosis, which eventually ended up in a full hysterectomy in her late 40's. I think the trauma was more in the fact we could not have children...she tried very hard, we both did. But it wasn't to be. Her other sisters also have had endometriosis. So it runs in her family.

I think that you need to tell him, but first, learn all you can about the situation and be educated about it. Choose the right time and place to tell him, be gentle and ask him to be understanding. You will find out whether or not he loves you because if he loves you he will stick with you, whether or not you have this problem. It is better to find out now if he isn't prepared to accept the truth about it.

I think you can allow yourself to relieve your mind and concience by knowing you are going to tell him...just decide you are going to do it, and then you can relax and just do what you can first by educating yourself on your condition with your doctor.

Thanks for asking me to respond to your question.

Cause Infertility in Women

Most urinary tract infections are caused by bacteria entering the urethra from outside. Of all cases, somewhere around 70% is caused by the bacterium E-coli (Escherichia coliform). E-coli actually lives quite naturally in the bowel and is mostly harmless. However when it gets into the bladder it will breed rapidly and start causing symptoms within hours. Bacterium will usually enter the bladder through the urethra due to cross contamination from the bowel, though can make its way through the digestion system, if contaminated food is consumed.

Obviously, there are certain factors, such as age and race which you can do nothing about. However, it has been shown that by maintaining a healthy weight you can help reduce further growth of existing fibroids. This is because fibroids are "fueled" by excess estrogen and this is both stored in and manufactured by fat cells. Therefore, the lower the quantity, the less estrogen in the body. With regard to diet, there are a couple of things to bear in mind. Firstly, it is known that women who eat a diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables are less likely to have fibroids. In addition, consuming plenty of dark green vegetables, such as kale and cabbage is thought to help reduce fibroid size.
