Can Stress Cause Fibroids
What could be the cause of missed periods + lower back pain?
I'm 31 years old and have missed three periods but I'm not pregnant. I also have a constant, nagging, dull ache in my lower back. I had a transvaginal ultrasound a few months ago and it showed that everything was normal (no cysts, fibroids, etc.). In addition, I always feel completely exhausted no matter how much I've rested or slept. I'm concerned but my M.D. and OB/GYN seem dismissive. I just feel like something is not right but I don't know what it is and my current doctors don't seem to care. On a side note, I'm always asked if I'm stressed out or worrying but I'd like to make clear that other than this, everything is fine. What could be the cause of my missed periods and back pain? I'm currently searching for new doctors because I don't think I'm being a hypochondriac. I can't believe I'm saying this but I really want to get my periods again.
I'm not pregnant. I had a blood test 4 days ago.

Incidence of fibroids has been on the rise in the recent past. Fibroids are not merely painful, at times they can cause infertility and complications during pregnancy. The good news is that simple lifestyle changes can help reduce its symptoms and make uterine fibroid treatment easy.
What are Fibroids?
Fibroids are non-cancerous growths in or on the muscular wall of womb and which affect about 20% of women over age of 30. Primary symptoms include heavy periods, frequent urination, constipation and back ache. Some women also suffer from anemia and infertility because of fibroids.
In this article I am going to share simple lifestyle changes that can help in treatment for uterine fibroids
1. Fiber - increase the amount of fibrous food in your diet. Consumption of such food will enable the body to maintain the hormonal balance.
2. Maintain ideal body weight- being obese increases the number of fat cells in the body. This in turn results in increased estrogen production in the body and can trigger the growth of fibroid tumors.
3. Stress - in modern times research has indicated that stress can cause women to stop ovulating and result in hormonal imbalance which is one of the known causes of fibroids. To keep stress at bay be sure to spend some alone time relaxing or meditating.
4. Avoid sugar and carbohydrates like white bread. These foods can cause inflammation, pain and swelling and worsen the symptoms of fibroids.
5. Avoiding smoking - which depletes micro-nutrients required for maintaining a healthy hormonal balance and the immune system.
6. Cruciferous vegetables which include broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and brussels sprouts contain a natural antioxidants and are loaded with potent anti-tumor activity called Indole 3 carbinole. Make these a part of your daily diet to improve estrogen metabolism and the bodys ability to eliminate excess estrogen.
These simple changes are very easy to follow and implement in daily life. Trust me, if you want to make a success of your uterine fibroid treatment plan, be sure to include these changes in your lifestyle.
