Fibroid Mass
should i be worried about these symptoms?
I am 24 y/o and fairly healthy but I had recently gone into the ER because of severe abdominal pain and was told it was suspected appendicitis. but after a CT scan that revealed a 5 cm mass in my uterus the on call OB/GYN said that she thinks its fibroid. I had also recently lost about 100 lbs unintentionally over the coarse of 10 months. and the last few months my periods have been very irregular. my question is does this sound like a fibroid or should i be concerned about other issues?
A 100lb weight loss is very serious, that's not normal and if you not doing anything to loose weight, I'd be concerned. I would make an appointment to the OBGYN and get seen. I've never heard of a fibroid causing someone to loose such a large amount of weight. You want to make sure it's not cancerous.
