How do you feel after having a hysterectomy? I think I may need one.?
I have a lot of scar tissue because of c sections and a few fibroids which are causing me a bunch of pelvic pain. I am thinking about requesting a hysterectomy. Did you have one and how do you feel about your decision to do it?
I went for the pelvic ultrasound this morning and they poked and pushed and prodded because she said I had a lot of scar tissue and she couldnt get the pics she wanted. I also have a big fibroid on the right side of my uterus. No wonder I have been living on Naproxen, Tylenol EX and Ibuprophen every 6-8 hrs.
Are you glad you had a hysterectomy? I see it as my only option to get me out of this pelvic misery I am in. I am kind of sad to have to give up that part of my anatomy, but I nearly bleed to death everytime I have my monthly cycle and this pelvic pain is something else. I just want out of this pain. Any advice would be helpful.
I had the operation for almost the same reason. It was the best thing I did. It does take time to heal and it is painful. The one thing that nobody prepared me for the emotional side, this does not hit everybody , I might add. I wanted the surgery, had 4 children and didn't want anymore, and like you was sick of the crippling pain and severe bleeding. For me the day after surgery I woke up crying for no reason, I was not in severe pain or anything. But I could no stop, then I cried because I was crying, I know this sounds weird but this happened to me. I talked to my surgeon about this between sobs and it was explained to me that no matter how prepared you are for the surgery the hormones can do things like this, as it is still major surgery. So be prepared this could happen. Just don't over do it once you get home and you will be fine. Like i said it was the best thing I did, and only wished I had done it sooner
