What to expect after partial hysterectomy?

Am having partial done, but no cutting, just Lazer, doctor says recovery is about 2 to 3 weeks, anyone have this type done and if so what can i expect, I'm a little scared, 46yrs old and lots of fibroid

What is a partial. I had what they call a total last yr, where they take your uterus and cervix. I still have my ovaries. A radical is when they take your ovaries too. I was cut and i had a lot of fibroids. I stayed in hospital for 2 nights. I was out of bed the very next day, walking completely upright. Within 4 days i felt fine, but i resisted from donig any housework. I was back teaching aerobic classes after 6 weeks.
I got myself in shape by taking iron and lots of vitamin c (like 6 times the daily average) as well as normal vitamins for 6 weeks before my surgery.
So don't worry, you'll be fine. All the best and remember to get up asap and walk, walk, walk.

Healing Fibroids Naturally

For most women, healing fibroids naturally is by far the preferred option if they are experiencing unpleasant symptoms caused by fibroids. It is estimated that around 50% of women have fibroids, although the exact number is not known because many women will never be aware of their presence as they do not always cause symptoms.

Fibroids are tumors which grow inside or outside of the womb. They can range in size from around 5mm across up to around 16cm, or the size of a melon. They are most common in women in their twenties and thirties and it is thought that they are "fed" by estrogen. They tend to begin to shrink around the time of the menopause and symptoms reduce accordingly.

Although some women decide to put up with their symptoms in the knowledge that they will reduce around the time of the menopause, for many women this is not an option. Their symptoms may be unbearable or they may be causing other medical problems. When women begin to look at treatment options, they will immediately see that they are limited. For very large fibroids, doctors often recommend hysterectomies and it should be acknowledged that this is a major operation, which carries with it risks from surgery and a long recovery time. There are other surgical and medical treatments available to either remove individual fibroids or to attempt to shrink them by various procedures. Again, these carry risks and the types of treatment recommended will be dependent on the age of the women, her general health and whether or not she would like to have children.

One of the difficulties with medical treatments which either shrink or remove individual fibroids is that they are likely to return over time because the actual cause of the fibroids has not been eliminated. It can be likened to removing unwanted hair-you can remove the hair, but it will grow back because the hair follicles are still there!

As an alternative to conventional medical treatments, there is a proven way of healing fibroids naturally and when questioned, most women prefer a natural treatment to surgery or medical intervention. This treatment works for the vast majority of women and uses a simple 7 step action plan which will actually treat the causes of fibroids and not just shrink existing ones. The plan takes into account diet, lifestyle and many other factors and will tell you exactly which treatments will work in your individual case. Very importantly, it will equip you with the means to prevent them growing back.

Fibroids are a condition which respond very well to natural remedies and they are an ideal condition to treat because as they are so rarely life-threatening. It makes complete sense to try out a natural treatment for fibroids before resorting to surgery or any of the hormonal drugs which can cause their own side effects.
