fibroid is there any help?
my friend has just been toald that shee has got fibroids on her spine she suffers terable pain but has been told by her specialist that she might just have to live with the pain ( is there not any operation to sort this out or maby her age has something to do with it ) she is 60 and under weight and a smoker so maby they think it would not be suitable for her or maby even dangerous ?could someone direct me to a link that could maby help me to reserch for help for her thanks to all that help
Fibroids are usually associated with the uterus - are you sure that your friend hasn't mis-understood the specialist?
Even if the diagnosis is as you describe, then I don't think being told that "you will have to live with the pain" is very helpful or compassionate.
Perhaps she needs to speak to her family doctor about the specialists findings. The doctor will have a letter from him (the specialist) detailing his comments. Hope all goes well
