Gynae question after hysterectomy -what's happening in my abdomen?
Can someone tell me what's going on now (I'm 2 weeks after coming out of hosp, ie nearly 3 wks post-surgery). I had my womb removed as it had been taken over by the fibroid impersonating a football. I don't really get any pain now, only taking pain killers before I go to sleep. Belly above the scar - bikini line- is very swollen looking. Nice neat scar. As I said, no pain to speak of so I'm not anxious. I'd just like to comprehend. Are the organs swollen from being moved about? Is the skin swollen only above because they only lift the skin above the line up to get inside? Any info gratefully received.

That is just how the post surgical healing looks on a bikini line incision. If it turns red or seeps any material or you develop a fever, contact your doctor immediately as those would be signs of infection.
