Fibroid Top Of Uterus

If one of my fallopian tubes are damaged shouldn't I be able to get pregnant with the other "good" tube?

I am so confused with everything. I had an HSG almost one year ago and it confirmed that both tubes were open. The left one was slower to respond than the right one and the left one is damaged. I also have a fibroid on the left side of my uterus (which my doctor doesn't seem to think it needs to be removed). On top of all that I have PCOS (and have had it for many years).

I am going back to the doctor on Monday to have him check my hormone levels to see if I am ovulating. My periods come every month now but can be somewhat irregular at times (some months they get later and later). My doctor said he doubts I'm ovulating with the PCOS but needs to find out for sure. He said we may need to remove the left tube due to the damage (even though it's open).

My question is even if the left tube is damaged, shouldn't I be able to get pregnant with the right tube that's okay? If not, isn't that a pretty good sign that I'm probably not ovulating?

You should be able to still get pregnant with one good tube, in theory it only takes one as each month they rotate if you will in releasing the egg. If not then yes that would be a good indicator that your not ovulating in which point fertility drugs would be an option for getting pregnant.
