Fibroids And Weight Gain
40 years old who has had two live births.?
I am a forty year old women who has recently started working out last november. I was told by the doctor that if I don't plan on having anyother children that i should undergo surgery. I have fibroids and Indometerosis. I currently bleed daily without doubling up on my pill or getting a shot to limit the bleeding. He didn't say that i had to have it but recomended it. Well now that this issue has come up my fiance wants to have another baby. We don't have one between the both of us and feels he would like one. I wouldn't mind but I'm concern about my age and the health of my baby. I would keep excercising and eating right. I would stop my smoking (three cig. a day) and my social drinking.
My question is has anyone had this type of medical problem and has gotten pregnant at my age. Did the pregnancy go well and how did the baby come out.
Next question is if you did and if you where excercising how much weight did you gain? How did you look? How fast did you bounce back?
women with fibroids get pregnant all the time, it all depends on their size and location. some cause no problems at all, others can cause miscarriage and preterm labor among other things. many women with endometriosis have infertility issues, other get pregnant easily. as far as being 40, there are certain risks but many women over 40 are having children without much complications. I would say all these questions are more appropriate for your gyn MD who knows the actual details of your specific condition. I will say this though, if you want to have a child, you better get a move on. 40 year old women do get pregnant, but not always easily. your fertility is definitely not what it was in the past. if you wait another 2 or 3 years, all chances will be pretty much gone for you to have a pregnancy
Permanent Cure For Fibroids
For some women whose fibroids are so large and severe, the only permanent cure for fibroids is a hysterectomy. Uncontrolled bleeding caused by large, untreated fibroids can become life threatening and at this time, other less radical options, such as the removal of individual fibroids or hormonal treatment are simply not appropriate.
Indeed, even the American Academy of Obstetrics and Gynecology admits that a hysterectomy is the only permanent solution they can offer.
A hysterectomy due to fibroids is usually performed abdominally as due to the size of the abdomen, it cannot usually be removed vaginally. If possible, the ovaries are left intact as if removed, this will cause the menopause. (Even when the ovaries are left, there is still the possibility of an early menopause).
If there is a choice, the cervix should be left intact as removal can sometimes cause sexual dysfunction as well as incontinence.
There are over half a million hysterectomies performed annually to get rid of fibroids. Nearly 50% of these are on women under the age of 40. Apart from the obvious risks associated with major surgery, such as blood loss, infection, blood clots etc, there are other less considered side effects, such as ongoing pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction, urinary problems and weight gain. For this reason, although a hysterectomy is a permanent cure for fibroids, it should not be performed unless absolutely necessary.
If your fibroids are not life threatening and you have a choice in the matter, it makes complete sense to consider your options carefully first before undertaking such major surgery. There are other less invasive procedures, such as embolism and myectomy, but neither of these are considered a permanent cure for fibroids.
Before resorting to surgery of any kind, you may wish to consider trying a natural cure for fibroids. By eliminating all of the known causes of fibroids, it is entirely possible to shrink fibroids completely.
Written by a former fibroid sufferer, the system you are about to see is, quite simply, groundbreaking, and I am confident that you will feel relief that you have finally found something that will genuinely help you get rid of your fibroids.

Gail advocates using natural treatments for fibroids rather than using conventional medication or surgery as this is a workable long term solution. Conventional medication only treats the symptoms and fibroids are likely to regrow, whereas natural treatments, when used properly can eliminate the root cause by rebalancing the body and restoring overall health.
