Fibroids On Uterus
Hi, i'm 39 done with having kids. I have 2 large fibroids on my uterus & cysts on my ovaries.I have long,?
heavy bleeding during periods. I have alot of pain too. The doctor found the fibroids during a vaginal probe ultrasound. I'm getting an endometrial biopsy this week! What do they look for with this biopsy? besides cancer? Would you get a hysterectomy if you had too? thanks.
Heavy bleeding during periods and pain may be the very important factors to be relieved immediately for which an endometrial biopsy, and various other investigations are required to assess the nature of the tumour (ie. benign or malignant, and if malignant the nature and type of the malignancy, the post operative treatment that is to be adopted, with hormones or chemotherapy to achieve a cure etc.,.) and the type of the operation that is to be undertaken, and the pst- operative treatment that is to be followed, and the prognosis etc.,.
After all the investigations even if a hysterectomy is advised there may not be any apprehension in going for the same as the treatment is always aimed for a best prognosis.
