How Does One Get Fibroids
How Does One Get Fibroids
Getting pregnant with Alesse ?

So been trying to get pregnant for a while. Problem is a very messed up cycle. Having another ultra sound soon (but in all past one's they say "normal". Doctors have always questioned endometriosis, fibroids or PCOS (polycycstic ovarian syndrome). But all tests have never proven any diagnosis. So doctor has put me on Alesse for 4 months to attempt to "regulating" me to hopefully make it easier to get pregnant. Just started my 4th week (the reminder pill). So from what I've been told I should start my period today. We'll see. I know it's common for it not work right the 1st month.

So the real questions, has anyone been in this situation ? Any luck with getting pregnant after stopping Alesse ? How long after stopping ? Did your cycle regulate ? TTC is so frustrating. 27 years old. We're ready but it's just not happening on it's own. Every friend of mine not single, have at least one kid. My husband and I feel left out. :(

My honest opinion is to go see a reproductive endocrinologist. An RE will run the proper test, give you the proper diagnosis, and determine the proper treatment to get you pregnant sooner. REs have far MORE training in fertility than a regular GP or OBGYN does. An RE wouldn't prescribe birth control pills for 4 months. He/she would find out WHAT the problem is and fix it. Birth control pills don't fix the problem, all they do is make you bleed predictably every month.

Don't waste your time, go see a fertility specialist. Make an appt with an RE for a consultation ASAP.

Good luck.

Natural Treatments To Reduce Fibroids

If you have been diagnosed with fibroids, you have probably talked over your treatment options with your doctor. If, like many women you are disappointed that conventionally, there is very little which can be done, you may be considering looking at natural treatments to reduce fibroids.

Both drug treatment and surgery are really only ever temporary measures, unless you are able to remove the underlying cause of your fibroids. Failure to do this will result in your fibroids regrowing, often within a very short space of time. This is one of the reasons why doctors often recommend "watchful waiting", only suggesting treatment if your symptoms become unbearable.

The irony is that if you are able to remove the root causes, conventional treatment can become unnecessary as fibroids will often then shrink naturally, it is the very fact that something within your body is fueling the growth which is causing the problem.

High estrogen levels are known to be a factor in fibroid growth, but not the only one. Having high levels does not guarantee fibroid growth, but will predispose a woman towards having fibroids. Other factors may include eating a poor diet, ingesting environmental toxins and pesticides, genetic factors. It is often believed to be a very subtle combination of circumstances which mean one woman might get fibroids when another with an almost identical set of circumstances will not.

Natural treatments to reduce fibroids which involve estrogen might include reducing it naturally by weight control. Overweight women have more estrogen as this hormone is both manufactured by, and stored in, fat cells. The body will also store estrogen mimicking compounds in the liver, which have been unwittingly ingested from environmental toxins and pesticides. These can be notoriously difficult to eliminate and the only surefire way is by undergoing a thorough liver detox.

Other natural treatments to reduce fibroids which you might like to consider include

* Lymphatic drainage-This reduces congestion. Also helpful is massage and skin brushing
* Gentle rebound exercise-Such as on a mini trampoline. This can also help with congestion and gets the circulation going
* Drink at least 2 Liters of filtered water daily
* Heat packs/hot water bottles placed on the abdomen can help relieve pain
* Acupuncture-Thought to move blood, break up stagnation and for pain relief
* Aromatherapy-Thought to help the reproductive system and can help to gently re-balance hormones

If you are considering trying out natural treatments to reduce fibroids, the best advice I can give you is not to follow an ad-hoc set of treatments, but to follow a tried and tested plan which has already given good, sound results to many women. You might like to consider consulting an alternative therapist, although this is known to be a very expensive route. To use such a system, you will need to prepared to play an active role in your own healing. If you are the type of person who simply expects to take a pill and be cured, then this type of approach might not be for you.

The lack of comprehensive "real" help for women led an alternative practitioner to develop a complete system for shrinking fibroids which mirrored what she taught women in her busy clinic. Her unique, 7 Step Plan using natural treatments to reduce fibroids has been successfully used by many thousands of women worldwide and for those who are willing to take charge of their own treatment, this is perfect.
