Hysterectomy Fibroids

Would you go ahead and have a hysterectomy?
I have large uterine fibroids. Ovarion cyst, polycystic ovaries and HPV. My doctor wanted to do it when he found the fibroids a few years ago but I wasn't ready. Now the pain is increasing. Heavy bleeding is not a problem though. And I've had a few cysts rupture lately.
I had a hysterectomy when I was 38. It was tough. Looking back, I still think I did the right thing because my quality of life had deteriorated so much. I was bleeding profusely and in pain 3 out of every 4 weeks. However, I must admit that I did a lot of grieving afterwards. It's the whole permanency of it all, knowing that there is no longer any possibility of bearing a child; plus there are intimate physical changes that your doctor (unless she is a woman who has also had a complete hx) will not tell you about. Those changes were a surprise and dissapointment to me - and again - FINAL. So it's not an easy decision, but hopefully my experience will help you some. I basically think that when your quality of life reaches whatever 'your' acceptable 'bottom' is, then it's time to take action. Good luck and may God Bless
