Laparotomy Fibroids

Laparotomy procedure

As soon as possible, you are encouraged to do your deep breathing and leg exercises.
You are assisted out of bed the day after the operation (all going well). Early walking is important, as it reduces the risks of blood clots and chest infections.
You have daily wound care and observation, and advice on caring for your wound at home.
Medication is given to you on discharge.

There will be some pain for a few days. How many days? This is totally personal, each woman has a diferent level of enduring pains. You will get painkillers and I suggest as long as you feel pain or discomfort and weakness or tirdeness, just listen to your body. You body will signal you when you are ready to resume your daily activities.
