Painful Fibroid Tumors
hysterectomy?
i'm a 36 year old woman that had a hysterectomy 5 weeks ago due to a large fibroid tumor that was the size of a cantelope so says my dr. i was having very heavy painful periods.i still wanted another child so the dr was originally going into surgery for a myectomy but he said the tomor was inttwined in the inner uterus that he had to remove the uterus the thing is i signed that if lifethreating situation that he could rmove what ever was necesary.i specified that i wanted to keep mt cervix.he promised he would only remove it if it was medically necesay,however when awoke from the surgery i askrd what was removed he said th uterus and cervix,everything else was left in.i asked why he removed my cervix he said i didnt need it!i am very upset about htis and wandering will not having a cervix make a big difference in my sex life?i hear so many stories please tell me tours and what i can do about this also can i do a malpractice suite on my dr.for unnesesarly removing my cervix?
I'm 31 and I just had a hysterectomy four weeks ago. Then, the sutures did not dissolve properly, so after hemorrhaging for several hours, I had to have a second surgery to be restitched. I had a prolapsed uterus, so that is why I needed it removed.
I had my cervix removed also. I have spoken with other women who just had the uterus removed, and they wished the cervix went also. I guess my doctor would not have removed it IF I needed it. I guess it's good that I don't have to worry about uterine or cervical cancer. I don't think this will make a difference in your sex life. If you want to talk more, email me!
