Do I really need to have a hysterectomy?
Yesterday I went to see my ob/gyn. I have a very large/massive fibroid tumor in my uterus. It is so large that the doc was unable to perform a pap smear on me due to the intense pain.
He says that I am in desperate need of surgery and that I need to have a hysterectomy. He says that I am 31 and almost too old to have kids and that my uterus is probably too damaged to be saved due to the large size of my tumor.
I am just wondering is this right? Isn't their some other way to get rid of this without sacrificing my uterus? I would like to have children one day.
Please help me if you have any knowledge or expereience in this area.

You CAN have your eggs frozen if they're not damaged. You're not to old. I know a woman who had her children in her 40s. I would have my eggs frozen and a second oppinion, but do it today. This could be your death if it's not removed and it's something really serious. If you die theres NO chance of having any sort of children! Good luck, God bless, good health.
