Womb Fibroids

after a ultrasound ive been told i have to have a biopsy from my womb.?

what do you think there looking for?I went for the ultrasound due to heavy painfull periods which also shown up ovarian cysts and fibroids.ive also had a abnormal smear test result.
im not sure why i didnt ask,suppose because i was given so many diagnoses from different problems that i was lost anyway.it wasnt my own dr and he was very blunt but i will go back and see suppose im a bit scared!ta anyway everyone.

I had a biopsy when I went through similar circumstances to yourself. They did the biopsy during a routine gyae exam. It was painful but over quickly, I just had a dull ache a bit like period pains for a few hours afterwards. I also had an internal scan. I had fibroids and polyps in my womb which I had removed under a general anaesthetic and had a D&C at the same time. I ended up having my womb lining lasered to relieve my periods. I would imagine they are looking to ensure there is nothing more sinister than the fibroids and cysts. they can treat these with minor surgery so please don't worry.
