routine blood test detect lh hormone for pcos??
hi plz help.will a routine blood test/thyroid bloos test detect the hormone common in pcos women (lh hormone) or do u need a special blood test?? also what test would u need done for uterine fiborids and what are symptoms that may have u concerned u could have fibroids?? thanks!!

To test for PCOS you'll need to check different male and female hormone levels. Also insulin, glucose, thyroid, and others.
A symptom check will also help doctors diagnose PCOS, however, some women show no outward signs and still have it. Some women don't even have the characteristic ovarian cysts. Others are "cursed" with all the symptoms, and they get worse with age unless treatment is done to stop the progression. Insulin resistance is common with PCOS and the risks of heart disease and diabetes is higher. Infertility and pregnancy complications are also higher in PCOS women.
Ultrasound will show fibroids. You may have abdominal pain from them.
Ovarian cysts and fibroids are two different things.
