How do I go about finding a good GYN surgeon?
I need to have a surgery, which is common in general, but i've got a pretty bad case. (Uterine fibroids). How do I go about fining a good surgeon? I went to see a GYN and he seems like he knows what he's talking about. But I can't really ask him "Are you a good surgeon?" cause every normal person would say "yes" and that's not that informative. How do I find out of he is good?
My Gyno does her own surgeries. If you like your doctor and he performs surgeries, chances are he is competent enough to handle your case. If not, he can surely refer you to someone who can operate effectively.
You can always ask him how many of these procedures he's done, and what it all entails. You can always ask him what are the outcomes of other patients he has operated on.
